Summary, etc. Java is a computer programming language that enables developers to use the program from anywhere. It is a very popular platform, with more than 10 million users. The Java program was developed by Sun Microsystems in the year 1995. Programming With Java: A Primer by E. Balagurusamy deals with all the newly added features of Java 2 and the updated version of J2SE 5.0. This book contains some of the most complex features of this language in a simple reader-friendly format. The aspects of core libraries have been explained as well. This work also provides illustrations for better understanding. The chapters in the book include Fundamentals of Object-Oriented Programming, Overview of JAVA Language, Data Types, Constants, Variables, and Managing Errors and Exceptions. There are also chapters titled Arrays, Strings and Vectors, Objects and Methods, Decision Making and Looping. Other chapters like Interfaces: Multiple Inheritance, Packages: Putting Classes Together, Multi threaded Programming, Graphics Programming, JAVA Evolution, Operators and Expressions, Decision Making and Branding, and Applet Programming have also been included. The author discusses the features of different Java interfaces and packages. Concepts like graphics and multi-threads have been discussed thoroughly with illustrations. Programming With Java: A Primer also provides instructions on how to develop and incorporate applets. It has exercises on debugging and has mock projects to help students understand the given concepts. Some questions based on the Sun Certified Java Programmer Exam are also provided.
